米国から帰って、さあレコードを聴こうと思っているが、なかなかのんびりできなくて、結局、通勤でのクルマのなか、が一番良かったりしている。これは今週一番聴いたアルバム。
最初、これはシッリペンバッハによるラスト・デイトであり、ミシャ・メンゲルベルクへの追悼、そしてドルフィーやモンクへの、と早とちり。最近聴いたから。実はミシャが亡くなる２年前のコンサート。
そう思えるくらい、彼らへの敬愛に溢れた演奏。ボクにとっての究極の１枚であるラスト・デイトと極めて似た空気、ミシャとハンが作る奇妙な空間の上でドルフィーの更に奇妙な咆吼が音の軌跡を走らせていく、その感触をなぞっている。
シッリペンバッハのピアノはミシャのピアノほど粒だって揺れていないし、ドラムもハンの変態性には及ばない。しかし、欧州奏者が持つ「ジャズの祝祭性」への偏執的な誇張が美しい形で投影されていて、実に美味しい。そしてバス・クラリネットのルディ・マハールが実に聴かせる。ドルフィー的な咆吼も聴かせるし、管を実に綺麗に響かせる。
あまりドイツの奏者は聴かないのだけど（40年前に聴いたグローブ・ユニティーが合わなかった）、ちょっと聴こうかな、という気になった。
