1970年代ジャズが好きならば，やはりカウェル，トリヴァーあたりが王道なのだけど，しばらく聴いていると飽きてくるのも事実で，なんだろうな．
下のStrata-Eastに関するインタビュー記事は実に面白くて，1970年頃のシーンをよく伝えているのではないか．確かに主流派のジャズ奏者からの流れにあることが分かる．だから，サム・リヴァースのロフトから興ったロフト・ジャズやオーネット・コールマンのArtist House周辺との関係性はあまり感じない．
ボクにとってのカウェルの代表作はECMの幻想組曲（この邦題は好きだなあ）なのだけど，多分，異色作なんだろうな．アイヒャーとの化学反応が美しく昇華した音が美しくも，1970年代の米ジャズの良さを伝える．
ということで，もう少しカウェルを聴こうかな．
