音の一発目からヤラれた。ドルフィーのOut thereからの17 West。だからトメカ・リードはロン・カーター役。混沌とした不安な音空間を見事に作っている。狙った違和感が過剰すぎるハルヴォーソンの違和感が、見事に嵌っている。
リードとハルヴォーソンの双頭バンド的な内容だけど、ハルヴォーソンは自作よりは控えめの変態さで、結果的にはちょうど。割と真っ直ぐなジャズをしっかり刻んだりしているので、存外に楽しい。
リードはシカゴの人、の割には純なジャズを聴かせていて、それが存外に良い。シカゴの奏者を聴くのは、その混入させれた毒に痺れる行為、だと思っているが、このアルバムはそれはない。チェロとギターの様々な曲想を楽しむ感じ。かなりハルヴォーソンの曲作りが気に入った。

トメカ・リード（1977年生まれ）は、アメリカの作曲家、即興演奏家、チェリスト、キュレーター、教師である。
アート・アンサンブル・オブ・シカゴ、ニコール・ミッチェル、アンソニー・ブラクストン、AACMグレート・ブラック・ミュージック・アンサンブル、マイク・リードのルーズ・アセンブリー、ロスコ・ミッチェルと演奏・録音している. トマス・フジワラ、ジェイソン・ローブケ、メアリー・ハルヴォーソンとの「トメカ・リード・カルテット」を率い、マズ・スウィフト、シルビア・ボログネシとのトリオ「ヒア・イン・ナウ」の共同リーダーを務めている[10]。
リードは、現在毎年開催されているシカゴ・ジャズ・ストリング・サミットを創設し、2021年現在も運営しており、ジャズ・ジャーナリスト協会から2017年の「シカゴ・ジャズ・ヒーロー」に選ばれた。 2019年にリードはミルズ大学のダリウス・ミヨー特別客員教授に就任した。 2021年度米国アーティスト・フェローである。
