長く欲しいレコードであったが、出会い事もなく、結局、カナダのディーラーから購入。1960年代のブレイ・トリオの最終作。
1950年代のバップピアニストから出発して、オーネット・コールマンとの共演の後、1963年のサヴォイのFootloose! からスタイル一新。これからシンセサイザ・ショウを開始する1969年の前までが、ボク的にポール・ブレイの最盛期。勿論、IAIの諸作や晩年のECMも好きなのだけど。エヴァンスとはまた違う、硬質なピアノ・トリオを聴かせてくれる。音が遠心力を持っていて、曲が広がり、そして中心から瓦解していくようなフリー・ジャズの風味。でもB1のようにちょっと求心力を与えると、もっと良く聴こえ、それが何となく可笑しい。
